Open Yard invests for the future: The East end dock will be completely renewed and will be finished in time for the 2019 season.

Next door to the Open Yard area is the Sjögården hotel with the business called Verhas. Currently, a major renovation is under way for more than 2,000,000 Euros.

Freddan & Tomas will play live music Friday and Saturday night 24 and 25 August 2018. They will play until 11 pm. This will take place at Sjögården / Verhas, just on the other side of the street from the Open Yard / Öppet Varv area in Ellös, Orust.

Also the Hallberg-Rassy 340 has been nominated to the honourable title European Yacht of the Year 2019, in the category "Family cruiser". That means that also the Hallberg-Rassy 340 has been ranked as one of the most interesting and promising newcomers of its class.

The second nominated boat for European Yacht of the Year, out of three, exhibited at Open Yard / Öppet Varv, is the Lite XP by Liteboat from France, which has Scandinavian premiere at Open Yard / Öppet Varv.

We are happy and proud to announce that the Open Yard / Öppet Varv marina will be the official center for the European Yacht of the Year tests in northern Europe. The prize is given by the twelve leading European sailing magazines after thorough tests of nominated boats. The tests will take place 28-30 August 2018.
